Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani was born July 11, 1934 in Piacenza, Italy.  He had no fashion education but still went into the fashion industry. Giorgio first worked as a buyer. Then he opened his own design office. That led to him working as a freelance designer for many important fashion houses. He then had several runway shows at Sala Blanca in the fitti palace in Florence which were widely recognized by the entire press.  then he founded the Giorgio Armani corporation which led to him  producing for the united states. That was when he introduced the line Mani which was for both women and men. This label became a leading label in the fashion industry. Giorgio created a line. The new line included accessories, underwear and swimwear which was named Collezioni. Also a line called Emporio Armani. He then created some costume designs for a movie called American gigolo. The designs were very well liked and were used in the movie. This led to him designing costumes for over one hundred films.
